How long for thrush to clear up in your experience?

I know this has been discussed plenty of times and I read through all the previous threads, but I'd still like to ask how long it usually takes for an average case of vaginal thrush to clear up in your experience. Is it usually a day, a week or (gulp!) a month?
I got the first symptoms of vaginal thrush last Friday, on Sunday morning I took the treatment.
Now it is Tuesday evening and although the situation is much better than before, it is still slightly itchy down there.
I can't wait for this bugger to die for good
Gimme hope please!

What treatment did you use? Are you using a cream too?

Three days for it to start easing off. Not much longer to wait, but if it doesn't go after a week, you might need to use another pessary.

When you say you took the treatment - was that an oral treatment or did you use a pessary? Either way, expect complete relief within a week.
You'll know it's gone when you stop thinking about it all the time!

I took an oral tablet, a pessary and I have been using the external cream. Now it is itchy every once in a few hours and at night, as opposed to the constant itchiness that I had before.
It is not that bad anymore, it is just that I really really want to have sex I can't wait for it to clear up completely

Have you been treating your partner as well? If they are an asymptotic vector then unless he wears a condom or is treated, you're going to be back at square one.

highinthesky we use a condom
Until the itchiness and soreness are gone completely I don't think having sex is a good idea though, even with a condom..

My latest infestation took 10 weeks, 13 Canesten pessaries, 3 tubes of Canesten cream, 3 Diflucan capsules and a tube of anti-fungal steroid cream that I can't remember the name of.

I get it a lot. So much that I have not long stopped taking a tablet each week as a preventive to getting it around my period. I find the peasant makes things worse before better, try the internal cream.

Mamabear14 - what you report is worrying. If you have a partner, have they been treated? Have you been tested for diabetes?

The doc thought it would get better after my rectocele repair but it didn't. I've always suffered with it so am very careful with washing powder, only was there with water etc. Partner has been treated the one time I gave it to him, we refrain if I feel it coming on until it's passed. There's no way I could have sex with it, far too painful!
I was tested years ago for diabetes, not since though. I didn't know it could be a 'thing' just figured I was unlucky!

Wash not was, and pessary not peasant. Bloody iPhone!
