A sudden thunderstorm can also cause poor water quality.
Making milky water clear
There are no silver bullets for clearing a swimming pool. It will always take a few days. Make sure that the pool water is continuously filtered. This will give you the quickest result.
The steps below should help you get the water clear again:
- Check the water quality with a good tester. The pH value is particularly important in this respect. Make sure this value is stable between 7.2 and 7.6.
- Perform a chlorine shock as explained in the video below.
- After the chlorine shock, the chlorine value should be between 1 and 2 ppm. Be careful when adding chlorine. Too much chlorine can cause adverse effects or damage to the pool.
- Ensure continuous filtration. In other words, let your pool pump run 24 hours a day. Check the values of your pool on a daily basis and, if necessary, add the correct maintenance products.
- To remove small particles of dirt, it is advisable to add flocculant to the pool. This makes the dirt particles stick together so that they are stopped by the pool filter.
